I love an upcycled, repurposed project, but as I was contemplating what in the world I was going to do with a clementine crate, I realized that most of my craft projects are for my daughters or my girlfriends. The son and hubby are usually left out. That’s when it clicked. I’d make an upcycled comic book clementine crate for my son. Then I scored even more mom points by making the craft with my son. This was an easy and quick project. You can do this one with children from ages 4 (with supervision) and up. See the full tutorial here.
My other half is a comic collector. He had a fit when I showed him the photo. Real collectors do not cut their comic collections.
Some comics are worth hundreds to thousand dollars. He thinks Superman Action #1 is now worth approx, 1.300.000,00 – Batman #1 is worth $750.000, – All American Comics #16, $800,000 – Detective Comics #27 (the first Batman) $2,500,000.00 (2nd highest) Action Comics #1 (first appearance of Superman $300,800,000.00 The first Sub-Mariner is now worth $84,000.00. He is a collector, and used the 2018-2019 Price Book. HE IS A COLLECTOR OF COMICS AND MUSIC.
Reason the older comics cost so much, parents thru threw them in the trash, paper drives during WWII, kid who cut out ads for things, were put in walls as insulation, churches offered bikes for comics, which they then burned in front of the kids, and did not get the bike.
He also collect vintage toys, many of which are rare, because parents threw many of the items out.
If you want to make a basket, I would strongly suggest take taking a photo, print out a copy on any copy machine. Collectors get mad if there is ding in the corner, cutouts, etc.
Good Luck. P.S, if you want to use them for collages, buy 2.
